It
is my pleasure to know that Dilla University to be known worldwide in
its own website, which has enormous importance in making our university.
Besides promoting technology and knowledge transfer, it has strong impact
on the image of the university.
Thus,
from today onwards we are going to read news and developments of the
university, academic and professional publications.
Recently
we have different changes that are important in transforming the university.
Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Curriculum Change, and Developing
Strategic Plan are the main changes processes.
Among
the transformation issues, BPR is the main focus. The major objective
of this study is to organize tasks into processes that enable them to
give fast, cost effective and satisfactory services for the university
clientele.
Based
on our clients' needs and services six business processes were selected
to be reengineered; two core and four support processes. Teaching, Learning,
Research and Dissemination are core processes. Student Services, Human
Resource Management, Income Generation, Mobilization and Utilization,
Procurement, Finance and Property Management are subprocesses.
All
redesigning team have almost finished thier activities and are ready
to implement the newly designed processes on the pilot bases. Moreover,
they are preparing the last part of the document that contains what
to do, in what order, when, where and by whom.
It
is planned that the redesigning teams are going to present the newly
designed processes to the university staff soon.
Besides
the BPR, Curriculum Change was successfully completed. Concerned bodies
are polishing to make it attuned to the Teaching and Learning business
process, which will be pilot tested in the near future.
