Curriculum of MSc Program in Biology (Botanical Sciences)
Objectives of the Program
The general objective of the program is to satisfy the national demands of Biologists (Botanists) at the graduate (Masters) level and the program has the following specific objectives:
- To upgrade the qualification of teachers and researchers in higher learning and research institutions;
- To produce Master’s graduates that are capable to meet qualified manpower needs of the nation as experts/professionals/ & leaders in research institutions, agriculture & environment sectors, industries e.t.c
- To produce Master’s graduate that can play a positive and exemplary role in the society for promoting scientific approaches in the management and conservation of natural resources
Graduate Profile
A Biology (Botanical sciences) Master’s graduate:
- can teach courses related to his/her field of specialization in higher learning institutions;
- can identify, design and implement research projects independently or with a research team;
- can design and implement programs and protocols related to his/her field of specialization to a wide range of clients;
- can lead, consult and advise the Government and/or the private sector on projects in the areas of his/her specialization;
- can positively influence and serve the society as an agent of change in matters related to environmental protection, Natural resources management, and like
