 Background of the school

The paradigm Shift in science and technology, the development of competitive global market, the new make towards knowledge production, knowledge transfer as well as the  desire for economic growth and development have been increasing From time to time.

Thus, the school of pedagogical science is the then faculty of Teacher Education that put the land mark event for the foundation of Dilla University. By now the school is exerting its maximum effort at the extreme endeavor to make the university center of Excellence in promoting if self to the college level in widening various essential programs and reaching the society through various outreach services and activities. Currently, the school of pedagogical science hosts 5 programs which are entitled to train students in regular, summer and extension programs. These programs are

1.Educational planning and management

2.Special Needs Education

3.Psychology

4.Curriculum and Instructional Supervisor

5.Post Graduate Diploma Training

The first 4 programs are directed to prepare students for Bachelor’s degree through various courses. The program of Educational planning and management has began to train students for masters degree in addition to regular, summer and extension bachelors degree.

Finally, the postgraduate Diploma Training program is the program which is directed to train secondary school teacher after they have been graduated in applied bachelor degree.
