Research & Project

The Research and Dissemination Team of The School of Life and Sport Sciences coordinates various research activities conducted by the staff members of the school. Currently, there are three research projects underway by five staff members. These are:

1. 1.Assessment of microbiological quality of water at sources and point of use at home in Dilla town, Gedeo Zone (Tewodros Bekele & Biniam Guchi)
2. 2.The impact and distribution status of Parthenium (Parthenium hyslerophorus L.) on farm lands and non-farm lands of Dilla Zuria Woreda, Gedeo Zone, Ethiopia (Talemos seta , Abraham Asefa & Fiseha Mesfin)
3. 3.Ethino-medicinal knowledge and practice of the Burji and Korre Ethnic group in Southern Ethiopia (Fiseha Mesfin, Talemos seta & Abraham Asefa )

Two other research projects have recently been submitted and are waiting for approval of fund support. These are:

1. 1.Ethno zoological study of animal products in traditional medicinal practices of Kore people, Southern Ethiopia (Dereje Woldeyohannes & Meseret Chane)
2. 2.Biodiversity threats and their impacts on eco-trouism in Yabello Wildlife Sanctuary, Southern Ethiopia (Meseret Chane & Dereje
